Necessary Items for the Fly Fishing Guide School
First, the necessary items for the Fly Fishing Guide School should include your fishing gear and a notebook. Imagine embarking on an exploratory adventure seeking new waters; consequently, you should pack essential items such as reels, rods (3 & 7), waders, boots, a net, and perhaps a traveling fly tying kit. In addition, pack as if you are going on a fishing holiday, bringing along your flies, tippet, vest, wading boots, rods, reels, and whatever else you might need. Moreover, if you have a vice for tying, feel free to bring that as well. Incidentally, we can accommodate any gear you might need, so please message me in advance if that is the case.
Items for Preparation
Furthermore, mountain weather can vary significantly throughout the year. Be prepared with rain gear, layers of warm clothing, glasses, and any other personal items you require. Additionally, ensure you have a notebook and the handout we send out, as each morning will resemble a classroom setting where you can take notes to help you remember what is covered. Ultimately, this is the real value of attending, as many past students filled an entire notebook before the school concluded.
Local Lodging Options
There are numerous lodging options for attendees in Bryson City. However, please note that lodging is not included during the school. We will provide lunches during the days of the school, so furthermore, many attendees choose to secure local lodging or utilize campgrounds in the area. For example, Deep Creek Campground is a fantastic option within GSMNP. In addition, there are several nice hotels, such as Sleep Inn, Microtel, or the newly completed Stonebrook Lodge.
Lastly, I look forward to meeting you in Bryson City, NC. It is always enjoyable to discuss fly fishing and the many facets of this great sport. Finally, be sure to purchase your fishing license online for NC here for the week.
